well im running cubase sx, and i have a m audio delta 66 card, my somputer is pc, winxp, 2 gigahertz celeron processor. the problem only happens on playback of recorded waves, so im sure its not my mixing board, and as i said, it also has the same sound on any softsynths, and even cd and mp3 playback.

Have you got the latest drivers installed for the Delta66?

Failing that, [try] moving it to a new PCI slot on your motherboard, this can often help resolve hardware problems.

jues.

i contacted m audio, and they also said i probably have an irq problem, and to try a new pci slot. so, i guess ill try that. ill let you know what happens. thanks for your help.

i did everything. updated my drivers, and changed pci slots, the sound isnt as bad, but its still there. could it be a problem with the frame rate? or maybe even a connection?

if you want to, you can upload a little snippet of the sound somewhere and i'll take a listen.

FYI - I have the same card, and am using SX also. I had the same problem (took me a week to figure out). It ended up being an IRQ conflict between my video card and the Delta66. I had a GeForce4 card (little much for a recording machine) which I ended up swapping out for a lesser card. After the swap I have not had any issues.

If you have a manual for your motherboard, many times (well, everytime) slots are bridged. SO if any card is put in the slot right below the AGP slot, it will have the same IRQ as the AGP slot. Then the next two will share an IRQ and so on.

Other times it's slot 2 and 5 that share and slots 3 and 4. They are all different, but knowing which slots are bridged can go a long ways towards helping you sort it out.

as far as i know my card has its own irq. i checked the list an all that stuff. i only have 3 pci slots, and im assumind the one above them is the agp. my card is in slot 1, so maybe ill switch my video card (in slot 2) to 1, and let the delta 66 have slot 2. do you think that might work?
