i have a pc... and 2 ordinary desktop speakers . . i also have a Mini-Hi-Fi Component, what i want to do is connect the Component to the computer so when i play mp3's the sound comes out from its speakers. but i also want my 2 ordinary speakers working, im thinking of buying an Rca to 1/8" then converting it from L-R to only one 1/8" plug . . then connect it to the Line Out of the Soundcard?? cause i have my 2 speakers connected to the Headphone jack . . .

You will have to split the signal from the speaker out with some funky y-cable sort of thing and send one half of the Y to your speakers and the other to your hi-fi...

Since you are not saying what out type your card has, or what in types your speakers and hifi has it's hard to be any more detailed...

What you need to do is get a Y cable with
RCA --> 1/8 Stereo mini-plug. Plug the RCA plugs into your AUX input on the Stereo, plug 1/8" TSR into the Green colored jack of your SB. That will get your sound going. For the other 2 speakers if they are powered you can plug them into the Black jack next to the Green one (nearest the gameport). If they are not powered they won't work. Rather they will but very quietly :)

Plugging your other speakers into the headphone jack I believe will cut out the normal output of your SB Live, but you can try it.
