So I went to Daddy's Junky Music today at about 10:00 am to pick up this used Line 6 Spider 2x10 guitar amp. It just so happened to be some special 10% discount day that I didn't even know about. Anyways, in the fray of things I walked out of there with the amp, a pair of behringer headphones, some cords, and a drumset... It was like Christmas in June. Pretty sweet stuff! The drumset is a used Pacific/DW lx all maple shell 5 piece kit with a bunch of crazy heavy duty hardware and a DW bass pedal. It's this beautiful teal laquer finish... I just had to have it :-) So I got this whole set for only $650... $580 after all the discounts! That's half off the normal price plus a bunch more stands. I hope this doesn't sound like bragging, I just had to tell you guys about my crazy day. Has anybody had experience with one of these sets before?

DW kits are rated very highly amongst the drummers I know - sounds like Christmas Came Early for you :D

Hmmm, Need to sell this SuperNova II - then I'm getting some proper monitors :)

The thing with DW is (i think) they have the note that the toms are supposed to be tuned to written on the inside of the shell.

...and they make nice stuff...

I picked up the hardware version of Autotune and a workstation desk...a big one...$600...of course it had to be ordered from another store so they took $100 off for the wait at guitar center.

Yep, agree with jues on that. Drum Workshop builds some very tight kits, and yes they do put the note to tune the toms to in the shell. They make some great stuff. I use their pedals on my trigger kit and wouldnt have any others.

Yup, the Iron Cobra is very nice also, but it wouldnt hold my kick trigger. But I gotta say I have stomped the livin daylights outa my DW and it is still alive and kickin (pun intended).

Yeah, I'm liking my dw pedal alot. I like the placement of the tightening wing-nut. It's so accessible, along with the cool little spot for drum key storage :-) I just bought one of them $40 pacific drum thrones to go with the set. Nice price for a decent stool.
