I'm still on the search for a digital mixer/console and found what appears to be a great deal on one. Any insight would be appreciated.

I understand it works with Pro Tools - but do you know if it works with any other DAWs like Digital Performer?

I find the reviews on musicians friend helpful but often times the items I am looking for are not listed on there anymore. Thanks.

I wouldn't trust reviews on sales websites...I typically throw in the word Harmony Central or Gearslutz on my google searches to get a forum-based review. Typically more honest...

What kind of a price are they asking. It is a 10 year old console pending on when it was purchased. But it was released in 98 and was a very big deal back then.

The guys said he'd let it go with a flight case for $850. Havent heard back about how new it is, but there are definitely deals to be found out there in this economy. Unfortunately for me, I just dont think it is what I need. Its a little too big, I dont run Pro Tools so wouldnt gain much from that feature and doesnt seem to have the DAW integration with other systems as other boards I'm looking at (probably b/c its 10 years old).

yeah, it's useless as far as the flying faders and "control surface" type features....i strictly used it as an I/O interface combined with the RME hammerfall ADAT card.....it's "ideal" use is for an entire ADAT system (either hard drive or the old "vhs" style digital recorders (20 bit fyi)....it's virtually useless and chalked full of features you'd never use in real world situations recording with a computer based system. but then again, 24+ channels of digital i/o for 850 isn't a terrible deal.....ofcourse you have to get a 24 channel ADAT card to connect it to yer computer (tac another $500 for that). it's a great standalone mixer, designed to work with hard disk stand-alone systems of yesteryear....not a computer......that beeing said, i cut my teeth on this board runnin' a Cubase SX3 system with it...and it definitely got the job done.....only cool feature is the built in effects. which are great for tracking with reverb and compression in the headphones, but not actually "printing" the effects.....and motorized faders are fun but more of a "wow" gimmick for the clients more than anything imo.
