I have been trying to find the best solution (within budget) for recording bass... So far this is the amp I have seen that has xlr out effects loop and under $200.

Will mic ing an amp like this give a good result?? Its only 8". The mic I am planning on using is Senheiser e609. It also has a xlr direct out; would going with that be better?

Mar 12, 2009 07:28 pm Heck, for $30 you can pick up an ART Tube MP Studio. It makes a good DI for bass. No need to mic an amp if you're on a budget, especially an 8" speaker using a mic designed for guitar. Go direct and you should get a fine bass sound.

Mar 13, 2009 11:21 am Honestly, I plug straight into my interface and record direct. I'm no good at mic'ing a bass amp.
