Why do my messages appear in the wrong forum?

Am i being stupid?

I go into gear Garb, scroll down and hit 'post new message' I write my post and send it. It then appears in the home recording section. Do all posts go there before being moved by a mod or am i missing something?

Cheers
Mark

I dunno dude, I just tested with a bogus topic and it worked for me...

I wish I could duplicate the problem...then I could fix it.

No mate!

My post about the Joe meek pre amp. Perhaps things are really screwed up. On my computer you've moved my message about posting problems into gear garb, whilt my gear questions still in the HR forum.

I took care of ya mac74. I moved this thread into "Talkin' Smack" and your thread about the VC3Q is now in "Gear Gab".

Mac,

It may have been moved. I don't know. Sometimes us mod folks will move a post to another forum if we think it will get more action there. The down side is the confusion it generates when you go back to find your post. I know it has happened to me. It was all good as I got a lot of good responses but confusing.

just out of curiosity, this one's for you dB, i don't know anything about internet database type stuff, if we move a thread from one forum to the next, does that affect someone who's subscribed to the thread?

Nope, doesn't affect at all. The topic keeps the same database ID, it just changes what forum it's assigned to.

Good thought process you have going there...you'd make a good beta tester...hey, speaking of which, shouldn't you be in the beta testing area? Rather than out here ;-)

oh yeah :O) beta test... SHHHHHH! secret stuff..

i have a job interview to goto in a few minutes. There's body shop up on the north end of town that does work on small aircraft. If the fumes are too bad I might goto work for them in their paint shop. Not too many can say they paint airplanes :O)

oh wow, this is sweeet! i think they want me, i'll find out next week, but the job is awesome. it's just like auto body work in a collision shop only on airplanes, jets, and helicopters! it pays about $1 less then this warehouse job i have lined up, but i'd rather be doing something i enjoy in an environment where i have opportunities to advance. i havn't been this enthused about a job since i was taking inbound support calls for bell atlantic's internet service

Go for it Jamie. I didnt realize you did body work and painting. I love my sprayers, and such. A guitar player friend of mine and I build and paint custom guitars for fun and profit. I get people at work bringing in the weirdest stuff for me to shoot, but its always worth either beer or cash, so I never complain.

right on.. i know what you mean. some of the most rewarding things in life seem to be those hobbies that aren't just time consumers, they're actually useful or they make you some cash on the side.

i once saved a little classical guitar from certain death. well two guitars actually. once was a guitar my girlfriend at the time's brother has brought back from south america. a couple of the tuners up top were missing so i assumed it was junk when he gave it to me. soon after i had another classical guitar given to me that had been someone's prison guitar and its neck was completely split at the heel, but it had good tuners, so i figured i'd swap 'em out and make one good guitar from the two.

well the point is, while i had it all apart i figured i might fix the ruined finish, so i stripped it down and sanded it and spot puttied the huge nicks in the finish and sprayed it metallic blue and gold in a spanish sort of pattern. it looks pretty sharp. it's my travel guitar, i call it tiny tim cause it's looks all silly and small. i take it with me every where. got some digital pictures of it somewhere around here.

I took a few minutes to throw together a temporary webpage with 19 pictures at one stage of the process, towards the end when almost everything was painted. The images were taken with a crappy webcam that has since become a victim of the elements from a few to many camping trips. I'm getting another digital camera this weekend from my brother in law. I plan to take pictures of all my guitars and stuff make a little page with all my equipment on it. Until then, check this out: www.geocities.com/meatbox13/sekova.html

give it a minute to load up if you're on a dialup connection. there's over a half a Meg of jpegs to load up ;O) -j
