About mac74

Myself and a couple of freinds recorded 200 odd songs in coupla years in the mid 90's mostly clocking in at ninety seconds. Got a job, got a kid and kind of forgot about how much i enjoyed home recording. Refound the joy a couple of years ago and its getting serious now, sing out loud, verse chorus repeat bridge chorus bridge to fade......

Just finished the first full length collection of songs i've done alone. It's called the lone star laundry, named after a home laundry business set up by a texan fella who settled in my home town of Nottingham, England. The first four in the collection are in the profile.

Will probably start on a new project sometime this summer. Not sure what flavour it will be yet and i plan not to do everything myself this time.......we'll see

My Studio

Korg D1200 12 trk, Squire Strat, Ibanez GAXB150 bass, Baxton acoustic, Fender 100w tube amp, TF Pro P3 mic pre,Joe meek VC3 mic pre, Dr R 550 little drummer boy, Yamaha keyboard for kids- very exciting when put through effects and the amp, though a little unhealthy. Yamaha B200 keyboard. ADK a51 LD condenser,Studio projects B1, SM57.

I record in my front room, no particular treatment, i just choose times when the traffics not too heavy. My neighbours preference for Phil Collins at volume 11 is less predictable.
