Well, the first half, or thereabouts sounds muffled to me, sounds like a different sample actually compared to the "brighter" half. Not sure if that's intentional, such as playing on a closed grand, and then having the lid opened for the second half, but that's the only thing I can really think of.

If you're looking for compositional input, then I'd say, while short and fairly simple, the structure and arrangement is well done, and stays interesting, but being so short, there's not a lot of room for development. There is some, but a longer piece would give you more to work with. Course that might just be a clip, and my input here could be irrelevant heh.

That said, it does not stagnate like some things I've heard out there, and it keeps the ear listening. I think it would make pretty nice movie-like music.

But I have to agree with J-bot as well. It seems to fade to a brighter tone starting at 48 seconds and the by 50 seconds it is very bright.

It almost sounds like a combination of the lid being opened and a slight damping being released.

but other then that, I agree as well. Simple yet with enough movement to keep interest.

i'll second what Noize said, but thinking about it, movies are very dynamic as is music, so, that effect could be perfect for the right scene.

i really liked it.
in a way it started of kinda dark and dull eq wise, and ended up brighter dynamicly.

i guess thats where they get the term shade/light.

Thanks, the "intimate->open" transition was exactly my idea however it occured during the mixing process, so I guess everyone's partly right.
