Hey guys, and gals in interested.

Just an update on Tuna and whats going on.
He is loving AIT and only having one small problem which he will work out. He may have blown his knee and is having a rough time passing his PT test which he must do to graduate AIT.

Anyway, the exciting news is he is headed for White Sands and is completely stoked! In fact he is packing as I post this. They are not telling him how long he will be at White Sands, but I'm guessing it will be a week or so. He is glad the buss ride won't be as long as the one from Fort LW was. He was told to behave himself during the lecture on using live weapons, so I am guessing he must be still a bit of a smart *** during class time at Fort Bliss. He is hooked to the internet now through his Blackberry and I'll post his gmail addy as soon as he gives me permission to do so.

Other then that I bought him a 4 gig micro SD to send back and forth to swap music and picture with. He is bummed slightly as his Blackberry doesn't have a camera so he hasn't been able to take any cool pictures. I guess I know what I'll be getting him for Xmass then.

Cool news also is that it sounds like they actually chut the classes down for a couple of weeks during Xmass so he might be coming home then. I'm stoked sicne I miss having his trouble making face around here. And his little Bro misses him a lot as well.

Not very far it would seem. Too much skate boarding and blading maybe.

They finally did a scan though so he'll know this week about that. But the doc said he can give him electro in the morning and he feels good all day so he can just cringe his way through it as long as the 2 mile run is the last thing, which it sound like it is.

If it ends up as a qualifying injury he might be able to go with an alternative event like a 2.5 mile walk, or 6.2 mile bike...or 800m swim...

usually for AIT he would be either held over or under until he passes... if he's already started then he would be held over ('over=after' under=before)

I was habitually awful at PT tests...

Of course medical discharges happen too.

I've been wondering how Tuna was doing and your update takes care of that! Sorry to hear about his knee hopefully it will be something minor.

You should stuff his Xmas stocking with every gadget imaginable to simplify communication with dad's HQ. :-)

zek, ya he is looking at the alternatives. But he is more concerned about passing it as is. He is bummed at the thought he might not. But the problem is he is like I am and has a high threshold for pain, so who knows what exactly happened or how bad. But he thinks it isn't as serious as some do. A little rehab and he'll be fine. Funny enough is he likes the PT and is bummed about having to do remedial PT for now.

Nightcap, he'll be fine I'm pretty sure. I've already set him up with that Blackberry 8830 which is their world phone so he is set there, added the VZ Access set up so he can use it as a modem as well for his laptop. And picked up a 4 and 8 gig micro SD chip with adapters so we can just mail loads of crap back and forth. Considering our combined mp3 libraries are over the terabyte mark even using the 8 gig chip could take awhile to send it all.

I'm thinking more along the lines of a good digi camera and an external 1 TB drive for his laptop.
