Just curious here people...
If I upped standard quotas for space, and allowed people to upload videos, how many people actually would use it?
Obviously I mean music videos...no amateur porn and crap, that'd be investigated, watched many times, then removed. :-)

Oct 03, 2008 11:40 am I would for sure, I need to subscribe again of course. What is the quota for subscribers db? 10MB just aint enough :)
Oct 03, 2008 11:41 am Pro is 25...I am debating whether to up everyone, and give pros more, or just stop the "pro" thing and give everybody the same space or what...
basically, I am kind of organize my winter "to-do" list for HRC...
Oct 03, 2008 11:51 am I like the way you have it set up to link and play offsite videos in the threads.
Interesting. My first knee-jerk thought was, if it were me, I'd just increase the quota for audio, and let YouTube -or whomever- keep doing the hosting and the maintenance for video. You could host a lot of MP3 audio for the space of one vid.
$0.02?
Oct 03, 2008 11:57 am Hmmmmmmm, you know, you have a good point there...very good point.

Oct 03, 2008 11:58 am I'd use the space, but probably not for video's.
Also, downloads seem to be broken, might want to check that if you have the time. :)
Dan
Oct 03, 2008 11:59 am there is a certain group of files that have broken downloads, and can only be fixed by the user re-uploading, as far as I know, uploads from the last month or so are fine...if you have an example of a current download that is broken, tell me.

Oct 03, 2008 12:25 pm I don't think I would use HRC for video hosting.... I would upload more songs if I had more space though.

Oct 03, 2008 12:53 pm The one I just uploaded is broken (offsite file). It did apparently work once, since stat's show 1 download, but Noize wan't able to download and when I checked I couldn't download either. I did try redoing the listing but that didn't fix it. In fact none of mine are working though most if not all of the others were uploaded over a month ago.

Oct 03, 2008 12:55 pm OK, I may the issue there...I'll put it on the list.
The more I think about it, I agree with Herb, I will build a video playing system by user, but I'll just embed them from YouTube of Google Video, and just host their players here, seems the most logical.
Oct 03, 2008 02:19 pm OK, downloads should be fixed...at least that issue.

Oct 03, 2008 02:48 pm dB, I thank you and my fans thank you (both of them) lol
I agree on the video, no sense using the space and bandwidth for video, when places like YouTube exist. :)
Dan
Oct 03, 2008 02:49 pm well, you have two more fans than me.

Oct 03, 2008 02:53 pm I wouldn't be using the video hosting.
Herb's argument sounds pretty logical to me. HRC would be served better with more MP3 space for the members, imho.
Something I would appreciate, is a token showing what threads contain new posts since my previous visit. I'm thinking e.g. bold headers?
Oct 03, 2008 02:58 pm yeah, I gotta do that some day...

Oct 03, 2008 09:33 pm Sweet, got it OD.
Video, me. Um no I don't have any vide.....
Wait you weren't asking that.
Nope, I'd not use it either.
I concur on the music space use.
Oct 05, 2008 10:11 pm I agree with the fellow who said this:
