The RNC

The Repubs are holding their national convention here in the great state of Minnesota...presumably in part due to our governor being somewhat of a rising star in the party.

The big news is the protestors and what is being uncovered of their plans to disrupt traffic and generally cause hell...could be interesting...

I support free speech, but not the right to disrupt others free speech...

I worked downtown Minneapolis during the genetic engineers convention a few years back, lots of protestors there too...made for an interesting time...

It's going to be crazy during the RNC, I'd hate to be a St Paul cop during that event...gonna be workin some overtime me thinks.

Sounds like a great opportunity to stay home and catch up on maybe.... trimming your toe nails, seeing how many languages you can write the note C in, seeing how many cherios come in a box.... important stuff like that.

Well, I can guarantee I won't be taking the family on a road trip to downtown St Paul at that time!

I can tell you what happened here in Philly, the year that they held it here.

The dumbest **** that you can think of. The idiots flipped over dumpsters in the middle of rush hour, right at city hall.

I don't know how familiar you are with Philly's city hall, but it is one of the only traffic circle's in the city.

And then decided that pepper spray would be a good mix on top of that.

Then they had the audacity to look surprised when they were arrested!

That was only the start of their activity. They block highways, major roads, access to the convention. All carrying banners that made no sense at all.

I am all about free speech as well. But at least be coherent about what you want heard. Over half of them didn't even know what cause they were there for.

My wife is a bicyclist. She had to stop every two blocks to show identification to prove that she lived here in the city, and was not part of the morons.

Your turn! Have fun with the morons.

Yeah, sounds like what they are planning here, blocking traffic and all that...same thing they did during the genetic conference, only that was a lot less than the cops expected...thankfully.

If you have something intelligent to say, say it, hell, even something stupid to say, say it, but don't disrupt the lives of everybody in the area...

But hey, it was just announce Jesse Ventura is running for Senate in Minnesota...so we have that going for us.
