Tune I wrote and recorded a while back.
it does not conform to the "rules"
i wanted to make my own sort of Doors "The End" type of song.
this was my stab at it.

Lyrics:
MESSAGE OF WONDER

Message of wonder, illumination of our deterioration, dedication to the immaculate, knowledge of the perverse. The taste of wine, the taste of women, I think its time

Small breath, breath of air and touch the gentle wind
Spread yourself out on the gates to pay for your sins

Hush sweet and lonely child, call out to the waves
Let them take you far away, let them take you far, in these tired days….

And if it comes down to you, then don’t you turn away. I’ll be there if you want me to
Before… your life, before your life slips away

Who are you to trust in me, cause im alone and its rainin
I see tomorrow in yesterday, its closing in so restrainin
Ever so restraining

And im filled with false hopes and wine

There she go down to me, nothing that ill ever see
She believes that im the truth, but I wont, I wont be confused
I wont be confused

Faces change now and then, but what about the all rest
Tiny breath breath of air
We’re facing, im always facing, facing im always facing… west
Facing west

Its time to leave and ive not found any beauty out of reverie
Leave me, alone
Leave me , alone
I can’t help the world.

I like this. The electric guitar works really well the way you did it. I would say the only thing is maybe pull the vocals down a bit, and maybe ease off the reverb a tad on the intro vocals (though I do see the effect your going for).

I wanted to add something snappy to this post, but couldn't think of anything...

I think the vocal sits about right in the mix, and the effects on it are OK; maybe a little over. I'm listening on my living room system, and the deep bass is kicking *** for sure.

Gotta go with coolo on the vocals they are just a bit to loud to me. Keep in mind I'm listening on headphones though. hmm, maybe that's why my vocals are usually too low in a mix. :D

Good song tony, it does indeed have a Doors style to it. I like the fx on the vox, guitars are sounding good, good job!

Tony, this is honestly one of the best pieces you have done in my humble opinion. It is still the dark TonyD we all know but it has a much better production feel to it. Especially the drums and as coolo stated the electric guitar sound works so very well as it comes and goes in the mix.

I also love the feel of the bass in the mix, it works so well with the drums and adds even more darkness to the feel of the piece.

I have to agree the vocals could come back just a little in the mix, but as well they are some of the best vocals you have turned out with some killer feeling that really adds to the song.

I'm putting this one at the top of the TonyD list for now.

Killer tune indeeed.
