A quick new song i just put down. i'm pretty happy with it. recent move so i've had to mix on headphones only and would be interested to hear how it sounds on other systems.
all feedback/criticism always appreciated.
it's called "this thought i had"

May 19, 2008 02:27 pm i really enjoyed listening to that, i wish i could write simple and honest music. the main guitar in the chorus sounds a bit too loud compared to the rest of the music and i don't know if i would pan the guitar so far right it tends to bother the listener if something is panned too far one way; great mix overall though i was impressed

May 19, 2008 04:41 pm I might boost the lead vocals a little bit. and move the guitar more towards the center.
This song is cool though. No doubt.

May 20, 2008 01:03 am I liked the song as well, I'd agree on bring the vocals out a bit more but other than that very nice. Interesting rythm changes in the song.

May 22, 2008 10:44 pm hey guys, thanks for the input/feedback. i have a habit of panning too wide, don't know if its me or what.
would anyone know how to get rid of the sharp "S" sounds in the vocals?
thanks again for the input
May 23, 2008 11:24 am Wow, really nice and enjoyable. Do you listen to much Wilco? Because this sounds very much like them.
I like the mix...the only thing I might suggest is that when the keyboard comes in at about the 1:45 mark, try swinging it out a bit further right in the stereo field. When it comes in now, it sorta hides that line of vocals that it coincides with (if that makes sense).
And personally, I like the guitar swung out left...keeps things a bit off-kilter, which I think fits the elements of this song.
