I recently acquired what appears to be an early-80's American-Made Fender Stratocaster that needs a little work, and I'm having a little bit of trouble identifying the model. According to a couple of sites, everything matches up to me having an '82 Strat, except that the tuning pegs are clearly not the "F-Stamped" pegs that supposedly came standard with this guitar. I've included some pictures (assuming I get the UBBcode correct...):

Apr 21, 2008 01:51 pm Erm... according to that site, it's an '82-83, and it says "Made in USA" on the headstock, so... yep!
"E2 + 5 digits = 1982-1983"

Apr 21, 2008 01:54 pm Oh the pic looked like an F instead of an E and the print was too small to read the "made in america". Well even better, nice guitar!
Apr 21, 2008 01:58 pm Ah yes, the squished-down image does indeed look like an "F". The original (if you click on it) is a little bit bigger anyway :p
I hope it won't be too expensive to get a new nut (the original one appears to have partially broken off...)

Apr 21, 2008 04:21 pm A nut shouldn't cost much at all!
Nice git-fiddle.
Very Clapton.
Apr 21, 2008 08:48 pm I'd say that you should be able to get the nut replaced for $20-$60. I had one done last year for a little over $40.
Apr 23, 2008 02:04 am Waddya think this thing would be worth? My guess is like $500 tops but I don't know much about 'em...
