Jan 09, 2008 10:25 am I saw a story on Ultimate Fighting on KARE 11 the other night. They didn't really put a very positive spin on it. It seemed that they were presenting the violent side of it and how certain communities have banned it. They didn't really talk about the exercise or stress release benefits. The people that they interviewed weren't exactly the most eloquent either. It's too bad...the story in the Star-Trib seemed to do a better job.
Anyways, it's always cool to get a mention in the paper!
Jan 09, 2008 10:35 am Yeah, most people don't put a good spin on it, good spins don't sell. Pissing people off and outraging them does. I was quite surprised of the results of that article...actually pretty fair...and knowing every person mentioned in it is kinda cool too.

kind of neat to see my name in print :-)
Better there than in the "blotter." Lemme tell ya...
Jan 09, 2008 03:32 pm Man, I have got emails from loads of people today telling me I'm a celeb now and pickin on me for selling out to the media.
Of course the fact I actually WORK at the paper I am in makes them pick even more. :-)
I guess it's good to know some many people read it!

Jan 09, 2008 03:38 pm Sellout! Hilarious. Nice job though. I got on the news once when I was like 7 years old, as a sound bite the day before a Niners/Vikings playoff game.
Reporter: What do the 49ers need to do to win tomorrow.
Young matter of fact Bryan: Play good.
Reporter: And if they don't?
Young matter of fact Bryan: They'll lose.
They lost. Booo.
Jan 09, 2008 03:42 pm That's awesome, great childlike look at what it takes to win.
I was on the news a few years back, some reporter on the street was stopping random people on Nicollet Mall and was was strolling by, he pulled me in and asked some health care type questions.
He asked if when I went to the doctor if I was afraid I didn't know enough myself about my body, health and whatnot, I responded "No, I am afraid the doctors don't know enough. Look at all the things they have said are great things to take, then after a couple years they find it causes cancer and stuff like that".
Then a few questions later he asked something that made me respond "well, ya, I should have payed more attention in biology class." and the reporter and me both kinda chuckled...
Guess which sound bite they used...I assure you it wasn't the one bashing on doctors...
