Is that a Digitech unit? If so, I think Coco has one. Haven't seen Coco around in about a month though.

Here's a link to the other thread. Didn't look like too much info though.

Nice unit for sure. Very easy to use from what little I have seen it. Here is a link to a kind of tutorial page at digitech. Its a multiple page deal so you will find the little button in the lower right corner of the tutorial box itself.

I think the full length video also give a couple of tips as well.

I was able to mess around with this little gadget last night finally, and wow this thing is awesome. You don't really even need to play guitar and the harmonies are completely smooth and flawless. As alot of the reviews mention the effects are descent, but the compression effect might as well not even be there, they should incorporate an On/Off switch in its place. The only other thing I see, or actually hear, troubling about this unit is that it is very noisy... it produces alot of Hiss/Humm and pressing the Ground Switch didn't help. Someone had mentioned that when going from the unit into the PA to plug it into a Line In instead of a MIC In and this would help with the noise problem, I am going to swing by the local GC today and pick up an extra cord to try this out. Regardless of the noise, honestly this thing freaking rocks and I can't wait to use it at band practice tonight.

Well, I used this little wonder at band practice and it did a great job for the songs we can use it in, but some songs it's just a little overkill. Using the new XLR x 1/4" into the Line In of the mixer did quiet the unit down(along with pressing the Ground Switch)for when the guitar is playing clean, but the second I hit a Distortion Pedal it's very noisy, an unbearable hiss/hum... that only occurs when the Vocalist 2 is plugged in. It generates from my Guitar Amp... Any ideas on how to take care of this? I guess I will need to experiment and see. Maybe a Boss Noise Suppressor or something??

Broke down and purchased a Boss NS2 Noise Suppressor and that did the trick. $100 to stop noise, wow... most of their products are cheaper and they all create noise of some sorts, who would of thought such a simple device would cost so damn much.

Well, the conspiracy theorist in me says they make their "cool gear" create noise cheaply to force you to buy a noise suppressor which they charge more for.

I doubt it, but it's a great conspiracy.

I watched the video for the Vocalist, and was very impressed. It'd be a kick to play around with.

Good deal you got it all working well. Thanks for the info.

I watched the video a while ago and was almost convinced to get this but I ended up deciding it just sounds too artificial and that it actually has limited use in real life.

This is only partly true. It doesn't work for every song, this is true, but for the ones like The Reaper, Voodoo, Just What I Needed... anything that has some descent backing vocals, it completely rocks. We tried to use it for a couple of our originals, like Sabbat Nights and it was just overkill. Aerosmith covers, Alice in Chains, and a plethora of others, it works great, again anything with thicker descent backing vocals. I found myself using the option of 1/3 above and setting the other channel to Unison and this does really well for lesser intensity of backing vocals.

I think I missed out in my explanation that I'm not playing live, so for recording it wasn't working, firstly you have more time to do the backing vocals and get them right + it does sound artificial when recorded clean without the band around it :)

I owned one of the first digitech vocalist series years ago. Although not perfect, I used it in the studio and can honestly say it did not sound fake at all. Using and Eventide later worked very well also. Having tried the TC Helicon units and now the new Digitech unit. I would not be afraid at all of using that thing in the studio at all. It has come a long way since the original units and even the early Eventide units.

With a little work those things will have killer sound, either live or in the studio.

I'm so very tempted. I can get a pretty decent deal on it, but not really sure I would get that much use out of it.

By the demo appears to be a very nice piece of equipment, if I didn't already have the TC-Helicon unit I'd be more than tempted to pick one of those up.

Lets hear some samples of it in action with you. :)
