I'm very proud to say that I finished the first entire release of my whole life, and its released for sale tomorrow.
Now, admittedly, I didnt play any of it, perform on it or even appear in the recordings, but I DID record it, mix it, master it (as best i could for each of those things) and make a record company to release it, so I still feel proud.
Anyway, it's called 'How Many Bosses Must I Face?' by Super Eight Shoes and it features 6 tracks of picky guitars, reel to reel recordings and some pretty nice soulful singing. Oh yeah, and a Snoop cover, obviously.
Theres a couple of tracks on the act's myspace here: www.myspace.com/supereightshoes ,and I'll be mail ordering cds from the record company's (ramshackle excuse for a) website here: www.ordiorecords.com/index.php?id=1
I'm excited just to have something finished and to have a giant box of CDs with my label's name on sitting in my office!

Oct 02, 2007 05:58 pm Thanks Beer! It didnt even seem like hard work, that much, cos I love the guy's music and it was a joy to record. Plus, check out the crazy cover art he came up with!

Thanks Deebs! This would be a good time for me to mention to anyone that doesnt know that I came to HRC pretty green; a little recording-to-four-track stuff and a little tiny bit of software recording but not much. I sucked. Thanks pretty much entirely to HRC I now make music full time for sa job and make real money out of it. I owe this site (and specifically dB for making it and helping me over the years) a great deal and I'm eternally greatful.
Herb; check us out playing with said reel to reel here: www.ordiorecords.com/news.php?id=11&s_id=1
That was a fun session!
Oct 02, 2007 06:45 pm Ha! That's good times there. Is that an old Wollensak machine? I noticed the 20 pound price tag still stuck on it.

I'll post up the name tomorrow when I'm in the office

Oct 04, 2007 09:31 pm Well, I am on my way back into real life I hope. Hopefully I will have a wife back soon and the boyz will have a mother home full time again.
But nay, this place is what helped get me through the whole thing in the first place.
