Jul 25, 2007 04:09 am yes, as long as you buy a power amp and some speakers...
Jul 25, 2007 07:31 am Yeah, that would make a decent PA...how big of venues do you usually play? Do you need it for only vocals or are you using it for sound reinforcement of the whole band?
We really should cover live sound more at HRC...maybe a live sound forum, basic PA setup articles and stuff...I would if I should bother...I think about it now and then...

Jul 25, 2007 06:23 pm Is this for gigs or studio?
For gigs you can get a powered mixer like this one www.behringer.com/PMP860M/index.cfm?lang=eng
or if it is just for in the studio you could get a reference amp to power your monitors like this
www.behringer.com/A500/index.cfm?lang=eng
I'm not necessarily recommending eitnher of these, just showing to different approaches. Typically a reference amp is for running monitors and you would need a pre-amp or mixer in front of it. The powered mixers usually have builtin pre-amps so you just have to plug in your mic and away you go.

Jul 25, 2007 06:55 pm yup, thats probably the way to go. Fender has a pretty cool portable setup as well.
Jul 25, 2007 06:59 pm yeah, Fender has some cool ones too, but they are typically lower wattages as I recall, otherwise I would have linked to them.
However, in the interest of the most possible use, get one with 4-6 channels in case you want to pump a little kick drum or something into it later on for a little bit of power behind one or two other instruments...and possible a couple of extra outs for monitors for the drummer in case he/she has a hard time hearing...

Jul 25, 2007 07:07 pm It would probably be an idea to get one with an EQ on it as well so you can ring in the room.
I used to have a Yorkville MP8 and it worked awesome. It had a few effect built-in as well. About half of them were pretty cheesy but it was fun for a little bit.
Jul 25, 2007 07:15 pm Yeah, however, on the downside, most of those combo pack deals only have like a 7 or 9 band EQ at best...not much good ringing to be done with them, I've been down that road. However, that does bring another thought to mind, make sure whatever one you get, if any, has an effect loops on it for things like bigger EQ's, reverb n' shiznit like that.

Jul 25, 2007 10:43 pm I wanted to Get the TC Helicon floor processor .
But On the Instructional video it Has A 1/4 inch
left and right outs. So I was wordering if I could use my mixer or not. Can some one explain what to hook up to where.
Jul 25, 2007 10:44 pm 1/4 inch ins and outs are what you want in live sound, no little RCA or 1/8 crap...not when you are pushing that kinda signal, that kinda distance.
