What does this mean?

National League v American League

And who's going to win it?

MLB is made up of two sub-leagues, each with different teams and slightly different rules...the best players in each sub-league join a team and have an "all star game" where they play each other, alternating years with which leagues rules they play by...at the end of each season the best team in each sub-league play the "World Series" to see which is best.

MLB sucks ***. Baseball rocks, Major League Baseball sucks.

Yeah pro baseball is a pretty terrible televised sport. It moves too slowly for television. Now at the park, its OK since you can eat your body weight in peanuts and drink a bunch of beer and enjoy the atmosphere. But as far as sitting on my couch, I'd rather watch almost anything but pro baseball.

once the players went on strike I gave up on the sport...I'm sick of professional athletes as a whole.

You've obviously never had to sit through a game at the Metrodome!

The dome sucks, but if my taxes pay for yet another stadium I am gonna go postal!

Well, then you better shine up the shotgun, 'cos it sure sounds like you'll be footin' the bill for at least part of a stadium. And last I heard, they're planning on an open air stadium. That's stupid! If you're gonna do it, do it right and build a retractable dome like they did in Milwaukee. Who's going to drive down from Duluth or Alexandria or Hibbing (or Menomonie) to watch the Twins when there's a risk on a rainout or when the weather is cold like in April when it's 35 degrees out? Milwaukee attendance has gone WAY up since building the retractable dome...no more weather issues. At the beginning of the season, the Cleveland Indians even came over and played a few HOME games in Milwaukee (not v. the Brewers) because they had snow on their field.

Nevertheless, you're right...asking taxpayers to fund a playground for the rich is just WRONG!!

We had one of the great open air stadiums a few years back, but they decided to build a crime-ridden mall there instead...

Man...I GREW UP at Met Stadium. I remember watching all of the greats there...Killebrew, Carew, Oliva, Kaat, Perry, you name it.

That was a shame to ruin everything by building that pile of crap dome.

I've only been to the Mall of America one time, and that was more than enough to satisfy my curiosity. It was cool to see the plaque where home plate used to be and where Harmon Killebrew's 573rd home run landed!

Yeah, I did too, great stadium, I Carew was my hero I still have an autographed baseball from him, watched Tarkington play the game, Bud freak out on the sidelines, Sammy White do his thang, hell even the Minnesota Kicks...great stadium, great tailgating, great concert center next to it...

But no, we needed a ****** mall...because the vikings "needed a dome" now they don't I guess...

Professional sports pisses me off. I have more fun watching high school and bush league games than anything else...
