Nice work! Being the resident country music guy around here, I feel qualified to say that you've put a great personal touch on a great song! I've always liked Gary Allen's version too...a pretty good message for a guy like me.
Guitar solo is hot...sounds good in the mix. I also like the little acoustic licks behind the vocals. Are those wicked bends or slides? At times it almost sounds like you're de-tuning and re-tuning the pegs in perfect pitch. Very cool!
Bravo!

Jun 24, 2007 10:46 pm Nice tony! I've never heard the original as I don't listen to much country but you've done a really fine job with it.

Jun 25, 2007 09:50 am Thanks fellas.
Its just a little slide in the back. no de-tunin for this kid.
I thought the lead came out good too. Its a 3 beer lead. I hit the bell curve just right.
thanks again

Jun 27, 2007 05:50 pm Hell ya TD, that is pretty good. I'll have to admit to liking the original as well, but you put a good spin on it. The TD hotel room touch I guess. I too liked the leads and those bends or slides were great as well. I loved the ending part, with the exaggerated kind of echo going on, almost Bowie like for a moment.
Either way, I'm liken this one as well. Do you have this one up for down load on your site? If so Ima gonna go get it.
EDIT
Never mind, I just DL's it from the email link.
