hello guys,
I have got problem with my Alesis LX-20. When I power on the machine, it breifly flashes "Cal P9" so I suggest it needs to be reset. How should I reset it ?
Another thing - when I put a tape and I format it, the LX-20 doesn´t want to record even play the tape, an Err 07 always shows. Heads are clean, what is the problem ?
The last one - can´t put my ADAT into shipping mode. It will show "do reset" message after I press buttons for shipping mode.

Can you help me please ? Thanks a lot.

yeah I would say cal alesis and find someplace to have it taken in to. I'm gonna have to do that with mine to get the heads aligned.

I must agree. with that many errors showing it sounds like the ADAT is in pretty bad shape. If it won't accept a full reset that is a sign that the internal software is on the fritz. That and not going into shipping mode is a bad sign.

I just pulled up some old adat tapes from the basement to archive to hard drive. Adat only shows Error7.

Are these tapes screwed, or is it just the machine?

Do you have access to another ADAT to check the tapes as well. I know the decks are finicky when left and not been running for some time.

I have 2 ADATS (well, one and a half...)
One of them started showing Err7 (which we eventually made up a song about, to deflect the frustrations!) - I got about 2 more months out of it, then nothing. Sent to Altel(?) in Boston and was told it was the recording head - which would run about $500 to replace!!!! I've since been using it as an A/D/D/A converter for my computer... about all it's worth...
