Uh, is there a Slip mode instead of Shuffle like in Pro Tools?

I have no idea :P

What exactly do you mean by pushed way back? You might have the snap on and set to measure. Meaning when you move the track it jumps to the next measure. You need to turn the snap off and then make sure you select replace when it is moved.

hmm, ill try to explain it better.snap to grid is off.

so on one track i have the waveform slip in multiple places with gaps in between each peice of wave form. The little waveforms are drum tracks, so when i go to adjust them to sync them in time with the already recorded guitars something weird happens. when i move one wave form ALL the other peices on that track are pushed back a few measures. its very aggrevating because i think i have it all in time and notice one of the segments is not correctly ontime and then have to retime every peice after that...

that make more sense? its sort of hard to explain... i cant seems to find how to have each segment on a track be able to move without efecting the rest of that track...

let me know guys.. and thanks a lot noize and colonel sanders for your help..

melty, I will have to light Sonar 5 up and see if I can duplicate your problem. I have moved bits of clips around all the time in Sonar without any problem. I think there is a setting though that will lock all the clips to move together. I'll figure it out and let ya know either in the morning or later in the day tomorrow.

also i'd make sure "blend old with new" is selected when pasting....not "replace old with new".....try that, not sure if it'd work though.

Melty, that is the only way I could get it to move when I moved a clip was to set it to make room for new. If you set it to blend old with new you should be able to drop it anywhere you want and the other clips should stay. And remember to not have link all clips selected either or that will edit all clips when you edit one clip.
