hey guys, my tuner just got eaten by my brother-in-laws puppy and i don't get paid for another week. i've tried to search the net for an online guitar tuner where i can input my sound like a normal tuner so that i don't do it by ear and screw things up. i can't find a thing. i've found plenty that will give me a tone, but none that will accept my input. i don't even know if that is possible. any suggestions?

If you have VST compatible recording software, try www.kvraudio.com/get/1809.html

www.guitar.sk/guitar/guitar_software.htm

And that one claims its free but its 'ad-supported' which doesn't sound too good.

if you're looking for software guitar tuner, there's a bunch on this page:

www.harmony-central.com/S...ows/guitar.html

most of them say they will accept microphone or direct input sound.

They all appear to be shareware, and have small reg fees. But they should all work for the short amount of time you need it.

G-Tune and APTuner are the two that come to mind. I love G-Tune, and the free version is only limited in that it will only run for a couple of minutes at a time. It at least gives you enough time to tune a string at a time. All you really need to tune to a tuner is the A string anyways :)

I use APTuner. It's shareware, but has complete functionality with no time limit.
