I want to purchase a cable to plug my keyboard into the PC> I have found midi cables on eBay. Will they be fine, or do I need a specific quality one etc..?

Aug 11, 2006 06:48 pm If it is a standard midi cable it will be a 5 pin DIN connecter. You will need to make sure you have a midi interface on the PC though. Unless of course it is a USB type keyboard, then that would simply require a USB cable.
Otherwise, all midi cables are the standard 5 pin DIN type. Hosa is a good budget brand.
Aug 12, 2006 01:07 am funny thing is, i think 3 of the 5 are not even beein' used, they were savin' them for 'future upgrades' to standard midi, and really, it's quite simple data that travels through it. so a monster cable isn't really necessary unless you're tracking at the powerplant while running a light show (lights use midi at shows)
cheers
