May 29, 2006 05:08 pm yea a I was wondering which is a better program? that or fire pod cubase?
May 29, 2006 05:21 pm Cubase and Sonar are very much on a level playing field, the differences between them are strictly person preference, which one fits you best as far as usability goes.

May 29, 2006 06:57 pm Sonar is capable of mixing in suround, as well it is the only audio application ported to run in the 64 bit environment. It as well now uses a 64 bit double precision audio engine which allows it to process with a little better accuracy on a 32 bit system.
As well the included processing such as V-Vocal and the Lexicon Pantheon Reverb set it ahead of some of the other applications a little as well.
But for the most part, as dB stated Cubase and Sonar are fairly level as far as most users are concerned.
But if you are comparing Sonar with the version of Cubase LE that will come with the Firepod, that is a completely differant application. Cubase LE which comes bundled with audio interfaces is a lite stripped down version of their flagship product Cubase SX. It is usually set with a maximum track limit and has mostly the lower end effect pluggins and does not include any of the higher end pluggins.
