Sweet drum sound on Funk America : ).

I reckon the gats are taking too much away from the bass in some places. And make the bass bassier, work my genelecs lol.

Tidy up that stop just after the intro.

Tidy up up some of the drum fills?

More compression on the guitars? ESpecially the intro,

For starters lol.

Ah, my street's pretty shabby man... Playing as well.

Everything sounds quite messy. Turn theat bass down, get some mids and lows back in those guitars. Drums sound V muffled.

what does "work my genelecs" mean? haha

what do you mean by shabby? about My Street?

yeah the guitars in my street sound pretty weird to me, when i add low end to them it sounds very awquard sounding, and if i take away it soudns like it does now.

yeah the more i listen to it, that guitar does need some compression. thanks

Thanks a lot Col. Sanders. I really appriacate it..

anyone else? id liek to have m7ultiple ears give it a listen if possible.

sorry man, i can't listen here at work (no speakers on this computer) Genelecs are a brand of refrence monitors (and pretty darn good ones from what i've read)....shabby means, more or less, bad. if something is 'not too shabby' that means it's good.

My Street sounds really compressed...like it's being played in the next room on an AM radio with one speaker. You might want to widen the stereo field on it considerably.

The bass is way too prominent...you can barely hear the guitar(s). The "ooohs" are just sorta...non-existant, or barely existant. Actually, this sounds a lot like a 60's group called Blue Cheer, if you've ever heard of them. Very, very garagey-sounding. If that's what you were going for, then it works as sort of a faux-60's motif.

As for Funk America...nice intro section. I like how the wah guitar sorta emerges out of nowhere in the right speaker, although the ending of the guitar intro falls out of time.

That right guitar (the wah guitar) is kinda off time throughout...just barely, but it's noticeable.

At about the 1:20 mark, EVERYTHING falls out of time...not sure if that's intentional or not.

The mix is nice and subdued, gives a sorta lazy-cool feel to it. I like the groove! It just needs to be a little more consistent throughout, if you get my drift.

My genelecs are my monitors. They have a very nice bass response, and its sounds awesome when they're pumping along with a slap bass.

I gotta agree on the Funk America. Bring that bass up and compres it a little bit. The drums are tight and have a pretty nice sound. The guitars do need omse work to keep them present but not distracting.

Otherwise that is a funky little jam there.

Hey thanks all of you for the comments. I found when i bring the bassguitar up, the bass guitar and the kick drum are slightly out of time during a lot of it, so when i bring the bass up you can really hear the timing issue's. so i tried to hide the timing issue by lowering the bass, but trying no to kill the bass.

timing issue's seem to by the hardest thing for me to get right... other then that i'm pretty happy with my abilities though i know there is so much to learn...

the guitars on my street sound bad no matter what i do lol, i blame the guys using there Boss Me-50's rather then my Pod Live to record it... i hate the tones.. i jsut wish i could make it better, cuase i enjoy the song..

any other thoughts?

again thank you guys so much.

Try a multiband compressor on your guitars, and your bass. They've saved my arse tone wise a lot. See if you can get hold of something like steinbergs multiband compressor.

Also, experiment with limiting. See if you like the tone it creates on guitars and bass.
