It is with sadness that I wrote this song. I had received the bad news of a close friend passing away. Charlie Hodgson was a dear friend to me. Charlie had to use metal crutches (Sticks of Steel) to get around as a result of a childhood disease (polio).
Please take a minute to listen to this song, tip your hat and your glass and help me honor a truly good person.

May 13, 2006 10:14 am BH,
Accept my condolences. It's never easy, is it? You've given him an appropriate tribute. The song is very touching, and has great meaning in this context. Good luck.

May 13, 2006 02:25 pm Very nicely done. I am sure Charlie is smiling from above as each of us plays this tune.

May 13, 2006 03:18 pm Thanks for all the kind words. I knew Charlie for over 30 years so there is a big hole in my life right now. One of the only ways I know how to truly speak my feelings is through music. I don't know what I would do without it.
Thanks again,
Lonnie

Your song is a fine tribute.

May 19, 2006 04:09 pm wow lonnie, i can't immagine what that's like....i've been close with most of my high scool buddies for over 10 years now, and i've known my best friend since we were 12...i dread the day i have to go through what you are, but i know it will come. i'll d/l the song tommrow at the parents store and give it a listen...from my experiance, the best songs are from the heart, which i'm sure this one was. i dedicate my first beer tonight to Charlie. i know he had a good life, because he has one (if not many) good friends.
