Just to let any one who uses a Q10 and wants to extend the cable, I tried a regular DB-25 serial cable I had and it worked!! This is great news for me. Hope anyone who was looking to extend the length of the cable finds this usefull.

Mar 20, 2006 02:49 pm yeah i've heard the cable that accually comes with it isn't all that great, and some suggest replacing it with a brand name serial cable....mine still works fine for now. i never thought of connectin' two of 'em together.
neat stuff

Mar 20, 2006 09:47 pm Zeke, how do you tell if it's straight through or a crossover cable?

Mar 20, 2006 10:19 pm Yep, straight through is a must, do not use a crossover.
And it is a parallel cable not serial. I had one custom made originally for my Delta. It worked splendid. Now I just use the stack one as it is only for spare anymore anyway.
But even my ESI ESP1010 uses a paralell cable, straight through.
