I just got back from CompUSA, getting a new harddrive simply to use to store weekly backups of my web sites and business financial data...so it's not a high I/O hi perf type need...
I got a 100GB SATA drive from Maxtor for $40 after rebates...wow...100GB isn't that big these days, but still, $40?! Man, technology is getting cheap...

Mar 05, 2006 04:38 pm Heck yeah ! I like CompUSA as well... they offer nice replacement insurance on what they sell there . Just a couple of days ago, I had my camera replaced by them...

Mar 05, 2006 07:56 pm ... cheap.. heck I was _given_ my ProLiant 6000... retailed in 1998 for $20k!
... my camcorder I got for about $1K with some studio accessories... 1994 was around $30k
I even found _real_ HDTV cameras for only $20K generally thought of as $100k
I even bought 4Gig SCSI drives for $1 each...
