Hi can someone please help me with this I have a 24trk 4 bus mixer I'm trying to split the group outputs from 4 into 8 and then connect it to my digibox. I want to know can I use Y adapters pan the individaul tracks left or right and assign them to their group thank you

Feb 07, 2006 12:31 pm i'm a bit confused....are you wanting to send 8 tracks out of protools to your mixer and use your outboard mixer to mix? or are you tryin' to use the mixer to get eight tracks into protools?

Feb 07, 2006 12:58 pm you should have channel 'inserts' on each input on your mixer....you can use a 1/4" mono cable to connect each channel to an input on your digibox. remember to put the 1/4" cable in until the first click and not all the way in....this will give you track seperation.
cheers

Feb 07, 2006 01:10 pm I don't understand because the inserts are for inputs into the mixboard I want to go 8 outs from the mixboard into the inputs of the digibox or can I use inserts as outs
Feb 07, 2006 01:11 pm Inserts are ins and outs in one jack, it's a loop. It's a three lead connector, one in, one out and one ground. Plug it in to the first little "click" and it's an output.
