About Ian McIvor

I have been playing around Denver, CO with a few bands over the past couple of years. Picked up an MBox (ProTools) and started goofing around writing the occational ditty here and there. I personally think they are not bad, but hey, I wrote them...LOL...I am originally from the Great White North called Canada, eh! Born in Oshawa, Ontario which is about half an hour east of Toronto (the second 't' is silent for those of you playing along at home). I began playing at 15 and during school spent most of my time in the concert band room learning any instrument I could get my hands on. I was part of orchestral and jazz bands all through the school years later played with many bands in the Toronto area doing top 40 music in local clubs. I have played through the years in everything from power trios and full jazz bands (I also play saxaphone) to a 13 piece band covering the Blues Brothers. For real now. I learned to play the guitar by listening to John Denver (yikes). I love the Beatles, some Stones, Classic Rock in general because that is what I grew up on. I am into some of the newer stuff like Godsmack, Nickleback (good Canadian boys!), Kim Mitchell (look him up, a great Canadian rocker with long ties back to the 80's with a band called Max Webster). I love the styles of .38 Special, Journey, the production value for Toto (man they are good and I met 'Luke' once-Tre cool!)
