Roland vsr 880

I have just aquired a Roland vsr 880 and need to know how to hook it all up to my fostex vm200

what i would like to do is record my band in 8 tracks onto the recorder then play it back into the vm to mix down then record the finnal mix on to a Plextor Plexwriter

could someone tell me what i need to connect to what and what cables and what not that i will need?

I guess my question would be why are you trying to hook 2 digital recorder's together? That doesnt really make any sense.

i'm gonna guess you're wanting to sync them together so you can run more tracks at once...i'm not sure if it's possible but if it is, you're gonna need to hook 'em up with MIDI cables....set one machine up as the 'master' clock, and the other as a 'slave'....if both machines transmit and recieve MMC (midi machine control) then they should sync up....well then there's midi latency.....also if you're gonna do this, you're gonna need a two track "mixdown" recorder (computer, tape deck, ect)....if ya ask me, it's more work than it's worth.
