I just got an m-audio 18/14 a few days ago, and m-powered protools, but we still can't get it working on my little mini mac.

We have OSX 10.4 tiger, and all it says when we try to load m-powered protools up, with the I-Lock key in the usb port already installed is "Error 1133, audio hardware in use by another application". We've did everything by the start up guide, and tried to re-install it and everything.

argh!

Maybe you have to uninstall pro tools LE? I don't know. lol

Anyway, I got your text, but I don't have any money left on my phone : ). I've found a few programs that sped up my computer ever so slightly, so I'm almost finished mixing, but I have a project that I have to get in by saturday, so I've been really busy. After the weekend I'll easily be able to get them finished, sorry about the hold up :S.

I would try a search on the Anserbase or the DUC, both at digidesign.com.

duc.digidesign.com

If I have time I will research the issue too

here's one thing i found on the answerbase

DAE Error -1133 with M-Powered 6.8r2 and Tiger.

In one case the customer had a redundant CFM support folder
residing on a mounted volume.

Customer trashed this file which resolved the problem

Mac Hard Drive > Library > CFMSupport

DAE
Digidesign DSP Manager
DigiDirectIO
DigiHardwareSetup
DigiHwGUI
DigiSystemInterface

Platform: OS X ID: 30145 Created: 09/28/2005

If this doesn't work i would uninstall PT and the Core driver, delete the digidesign databases on each HD (on the root) then reinstall.

I'm with dB on that. Only problems I have ever had with Sonar/Hardware compatability were user induced. Meaning I caused the problem myself.

This may sound like a weird question, but how do you uninstall programs like protools on a mac?

Ya know I have never actually uninstalled anything on a Mac. I guess it should be either available in the programs menu itself or as a context menu item in Macs folders hierarchy. Not sure though to tell the truth. There are a few other Mac users here, they should jump in and let ya know.
