How t use a Parametric EQ or links to help

i really need help using this
because im using pro tracks
and theres parametric EQ
one of them is a cakewalk EQ
and nothing i do sounds like it helps, i guess i dont know how to use it. so can anyone point me in the direction of some place to help me, or can you help me? haha

So, basically, the larger number for the Q equals a more narrow notch or peak. The article will be a good read. Other than that, experiment and perhaps ask specific questions pertaing to certain instruments or situations. Lots of people ask about getting the kick and the bass to sit nicely for expample.

If I'm having issues with the eq, I like to enter a narrow Q (high number like 18) and sweep back and forth to see where the strong parts of that particular instrument are in the eq spectrum. Just gives me a good starting point.
