Nothing but Trouble - my latest home-recording. My goal was to create a different type of tune than I normally do. I also wanted a tune that feature extreme musical textures.
So this is what developed...it was a huge pain in the butt to get it where I felt I could let others hear it. And even so, I still almost canned it.
Features 2 solos by hired gunslingers.
First solo - Mrbadhairday
second solo - Saturated
I thank them for the help...greatly appreciated.
Everything else by me.

May 15, 2005 01:34 am This really rocks Rasmuth! I'm glad you didn't can it, I think this is one of your best to date. Real nice sounding mix, I really like eveything about this one. :)
I'm going to add it to my SC station as well, great job!

May 15, 2005 10:22 am Hey great song man! I really like the guitar tones. And the bass drum. Is there any tricks or anything you used (i.e. pillow, no pillow)? Or EQ and compression? Thats the kind of bass drum sound Im goin for in a song my band will be recording sometime before summer (which might be a while away, in Wisconsin its gotten into the 30's here latly). Damn weather....whoops got off topic. Anyway awesome song!
May 15, 2005 04:23 pm Hey Rasmuth
This kicks *** man! Very cool song and nae doubt aboot it. They guitars are excellent sounding tone wise, come in just at the right point with a great solid rhythm sound...
Lead tones are good - well played solos. Sound real professional and the song itself is a rockin!
Drums are excellent sounding too - real bangin beats and the kick/snare sound good which is always good.
The breakdown section is cool with good pads used - man its a real cool song.
WEll done.
Coco.
May 15, 2005 07:44 pm Believe it or not...the drums are a Zoom MRT-3 drum machine...the cheapest drum machine I could find...not even sure its available anymore...cost me $99. The drums are EQ'd..nothing out of the ordinary...compression...and a little chorus and reverb...
Pads are a soft-synth...can't remember which one.
All the guitars (except the solos) and the bass are recorded through a VAmp2...
Thanks for the compliments...it really is rewarding especially since I had such trepidation about the tune.
May 15, 2005 07:55 pm I tell ye this man - you have that Zoom soundin better than I ever get mine sounding (I have a ZoomRT123)...mine cost £99 second hand and I believe its £149 new...still, its a lot to do with the way ye prog it and I aint no genuis at that for sure!
Pads are good too...man, I'll get ye on some of ma new stuff for sure with yer pads some time if ye fancy...top class.
Ah now the VAMP, I can atestify too - all my guitars on almost everything you hear from me will be VAMP'd..its a top thing for sure.
All compliments deserved man, ye have taken some gear and made it sound good....good work dude.
Coco.
