I have a new short piece...I think it might need work...Let me know what you all think!
www.purevolume.com/jeremyfrancis ("track06")
or
www.xanga.com/bethjeremy (music will play automatically)
Thanks guys! Remember...it's just a transitional piece to get from one track to another on the CD I'm working on...That's why it might sound incomplete...

Apr 18, 2005 02:47 pm You know I like your stuff! The only thing is the beat of the kick seems to have an extra hit every measure. Like,
Thump....Thump, Thump..Thump.......Thump
That last one needs to come off. Hope that makes sense!
Apr 18, 2005 04:02 pm thanks for the comment, dale! i took your advice (i knew there was sumthin messy about the drum beats...) it should sound better now...only thing that kind of concerns me is the 808 hihat in the background...some beats sound off to me, but it might just be me. can someone verify this? does it bother anyone else? i recorded all the percussion parts live because the looping thing wasn't working the way i wanted it to in sonar...
babble babble babble!

Apr 18, 2005 04:25 pm i hear what yer talkin' about, to me it sounds like the kick/snare are the colprates, they seem to drag just a hair and it feels hesatated...if it were a bit more subtle it might work and add a bit of "dreamyness" to it by making things sound 'almost right'. so i'd say to tighten them up. makes a good transition though

Apr 18, 2005 06:09 pm Okay, I completely simplified the percussion parts now...nothing but kick, click, snap, and bongos. I'll leave at that for a while...
