i just bought a behringer ada8000 as a second input device for my digi001. mainly so i could run more than 8 mics on a drum set. ive been using protools for a few years now (myspace.com/tex to hear some of the stuff ive done) but this is my first time ever using an optical/lightpipe device. now, my question is...

with my ada8000, it works and all and i get a signal, but theres this annoying crack/pop sound every few seconds and the mic cuts out. like its just barely out of sync, yet i have everything synced up. has anyone else had this same problem or did i just get faulty equipment? i bought it new, so i can return it, but i'd rather have an easy solution than go through the hassle of returning it. please help!

Do your "sampling rates" match? The ada8K only does 44.1 & 48 kHz via the ADAT, doesn't it? Your digi001 ADAT input has to "know" what it's receiving. Your software has to know, also. If it's not that, maybe the "clock sync"? I'm just fishin', without a hook. No string. Pole broke...
