I am trying to use my Triton as a 'master' in the midi input of my Cubase SX program. I can only get one channel (channel one) to work from the Triton. Every time I change the channel on the Triton in order to get another sound to trigger in my midi on the Cubase SX system, the original sound on track one changes. Can anyone help?

Feb 26, 2005 01:08 pm yeah when you change patches in the triton it's sending SYSEX (system exclusive) messages via midi to your sequencer, a quick fix that i do is just pull the midi (out) cable out of the synth when changing patches, then plug it back in....you can make in a change in cubase to not accept sysex messages...but i donno how.
peace

Feb 26, 2005 05:10 pm ah...okay. Well, I can say this, the manual stinks. It leads me in circles! thanks for the quick fix though. I really wish they could make these things a little more 'dummy-proof' for people like me.
Feb 26, 2005 05:12 pm well the Triton is a serious instrument, sure ain't no Casio hehe
Feb 26, 2005 09:29 pm the triton manuals (plural) read like alien space cruiser manuals. i really would have welcomed little 'befuddled man' cartoons with exclamation points and sweat squirting out of his head, so i wouldn't feel so stupid and alone when i read those things. more tech writers should cultivate line 6's technical writing style, where you get the idea that the writer is sitting back with a beer and smoke, making you feel welcome and at ease, reyling completely on dudespeak to get the main ideas across. though to be fair i'm not sure how korg could realistically implement that, given that we're talking about a spaceship here.
