hey everyone,

im an uber newbie with this whole home recording stuff.
i used to record all of my instruments and everything else through a shitty radioshack pc mic or my old sound card which had midi and rca connections and i recently upgraded to mac osx. i was recommended to purchase an audio interface so i bought the tascam us 122, it was cheap and has a usb connection so it did the job. i've had the box for like a month now installed drivers and installed upgraded one i was guided to do, reconfigured everything so that my ibook would recognize the tascam unit and when i record theres no signal and it just records nothing! right now im just trying to record a mini set with the audio interface since my ibook only has headphone outputs, theres no other way. the audio interface has rca outputs i can plug into my mixer but im recieving no signal. please help this girl out! thanks guys.

hmmm i have zero experiance with macs so i donno if i can help much....in windows there is a thing in the control panel called volume control....it's basically a software mixer for the soundcard, you should have something like that on your mac. you wanna select the tascam as your primary recording device. ummmm crap there's not much more i can say though....

good luck, and welcome to HRC!
