Juli@'s problems

First of all a hi to the forum..

I am a novice computer musician, and I am facing serious problems,

Some time ago I dubbed my creative Pci soundblaster for a Juli@

In hope that this would solve the problem, I plugged in the Julia sondcard, open my cubase, and to my suprise Julia soundcard failed to open..

I am using Cubase sx 2

I thought that this was because I have My creative soundcard installed as well...

So I open up my case remove my soundblaster, and reboot my pc...

The soundcard worked, but after I loaded sampletank (a vst instrument) it failed again, showing great instabillity

Would someone here has an opinion on that...

I am using a pentium 4 3ghz proccesor.

To your knowledge will a format affect the situation...

is there something that I miss considering Cubase sx....?

I am eagerly waiting for you placements

Thanx in advance

Welcome to HRC!

I don't use Cubase but I do use Juli@.

First thing, make sure you have driver version 1.17a from their web site, thats the newest driver.

Also, don't just remove the SB, uninstall and remove all traces of the driver. It sounds as though the apps are having issues sharing the driver. What driver type are you using? ASIO?

I do use Asio driver,

I also unistalled the driver of creative but there are some legacy drivers as well which I don't know if there interellated with XP or soundblaster....

The whole thing is that Asio from Julia fails to open...

And specifically when I load a vst instruments

It all cracks....

assuming you did go to www.esi-pro.com and got the newest drivers 1.17a, I would say check with them regarding poissible bug or known issues, I use Sonar and loads of VSTi's and have no such problem EXCEPT when the application is at fault being unable to share driver.

I am thinking of formating my pc and set it up from the beggining....

It will cost me some time.. but what can I do...

My major fear, is that Juli@ has a specific problem with Cubase sx which I didn't see and the format will be in vain....

My PC, may or maybe not configured properly, plus the various worms and trojans and spywares that I may be infected with, it am seriously considering a format.

Thanx decibel I am downloading the newest driver version..

is there some incompatability between those two cards or creative cards are generally incompatible with any music software?

I would say thats a bit of shotgun tech-ing :-)

I doubt it is necessary, I would first contact Steinberg and ESI and ask if either have any known issues.

no incompatibility that I know of, Creative cards just suck, that's all.
