hey man, welcome to HRC.

Music Maker is far from the "the best" (though honestly, is there a "best"? I think not, just differing levels of good), but it's an OK app at a good price, so it'll work for ya. You can get beats anywhere, just hit Google and search for "free loops" or "free beats" and see what it brings you, you'll find loads of 'em.

I just got the Magix 2005 studio deluxe myself... It's a good program no doubt, but the key is knowing how to use it. I think that most multitrack programs are pretty similar. I'm still learning, but I would venture to say, it's your components, equipment and technique, that will make more difference in your final product than the program you run.

I am not aware of such a forum even existing, but, one good thing is, regardless of the application, most audio work is conceptually similar, so while we may not know not the exact location of any given menu item, anyone with recording knowledge can at least point you in the right direction...

That said, if there isn't such a forum, and there is a lot of interest from more than just a couple people, I may be able to start one, under the condition it's actually used...

coolomatico! i mean i asked some of my friends and all what they use is magix (lots of em the late 2005 deluxe one) and lotta people here at www.homerecordingconnection.com use MAGIX, too...a forum for magix beginners would be really useful i guess so lotta ppl can talk and exchange about their problems and stuff. i am not talking about profs who can effort those simplitudes or u know whatta mean? a forum just for us would be GREAT!!!!!!!!

I'll consider it, and discuss it with the staff, if we do that, it's likely lots of software using peeps would want one for themselves.

Maybe one per maker, such as Magix, Cakewalk, Steinberg, etc...

hmmmm, well, we'll see.

well, no email alerts will be issued, if we decide to do it, they will just appear and likely be announced at the forum. I don't do personal alerts, that is what subscribing to threads do. But yes, as an admin (and the owner of the site, and all database content including your profile) I can see everything about anything.

As far as profi-buddies, that really wouldn't help, because professionals and semi-pros really don't use Magix, but more ProTools, Steinberg, Cakewalk and such. Magiz is more targetted at the beginner home recording type peeps. But rumor is the app is pretty cool...just not quite "professional" in terms of features and performance...or price ;-)

Have you tried the Magix website? While it is a far cry from being put together "well", It does has many pdf files related to specific problems (some you really have to search for) and a Forum page at

support.magix.net/boards/magix/index.php?c=6

You'll have to register (if you haven't already) and a lot of the postings are actually related to other magix programs like video editing and whatever else they do... I wouldn't try writing their technical support, they don't tend to write back...ever. (I think they're all german and don't speak english?)

If you've got a specific issue, I'd post it here on the HRC under a title like "Magix Music studio 2005 user question" If I saw that, I'd click on it... but yeah I agree, let's start a page for Magix programs. Why not?

Mostly because I hate forums that have 100 forums in them with only a few posts in each and would rather have just a few forum with many posts in each.

The issue here is also usage and fairness, starting a forum for just Magix would be kinda silly, cuz among HRC users, it's probably one of the least used apps and it wouldmake more sense to have a Cakewalk or Steinberg forum, since Sonar and Cubase are more frequently used and talked about. Then we have Vegas and ProTools, while not the most common here, they are hi-profile apps.

Starting one app specific forum just opens a big can o' worms...

Well thats too bad for me i guess. but u r the admin and i guess u r right so i better keep my mouth shut:). anyways. so another question... i just got a mp3-player and have the magix mp3 maker. all right. BUT i have problems with getting my audio datas (tracks) directly from my cd (where my tracks are at..) to this mp3 maker-program. cuz i need to convert those tracks into mp3(or whatever works..). and THIS doesnt work so i cannot put those files (datas however it is called) onto my mp3-player... :( whats the problem..? i mean i open music player programs and same problem here.. i click on my drive where my cd is in and there is NOTHING, its empty... so i cannot even put any files at some place (if its my mp3player or the magix mp3 maker..)and stuff... what shall i do?
