Welcome to HRC.

It hard to say, not knowing why you bought the mixer, everything else you have an want to do with it, but I'll venture some guesses and say that you should run the subgroup outs into the input of your Maya, runn a coupkle outputs back to the Maya and run the main outs to your amp/speakers.

Then, the inputs that the sound card are comin in to make sure they are assigned (using the little buttons ion the channel strip) to ONLY the main outs. ALl other channels get your mixer plugged in to then as well as any other input. They can be assigned to the subgroup if you want to record it, or main outs if you want to just play thru the speakers.

i dont know if this is how you should do it but i have borrowed this mixer from a friend. what i have done is simply run the tape out of the mixer into the sound card. i use the windows line in control and the main mix on the mixer volume settings to make sure things dont clip. for play back i run my sound card out to headphones or speakers or whatever. this was just what i thought may work and i hope it is the best way to do things. if it isnt i would like some feedback on it as well ha.

sorry to bring this up but i am such a noob..

someone is selling a maya44 to me for P7000(philippine money) or around $110 . .

it has 4 rca ins and 4 rca outs..

so if i use my channel inserts lets say input 1 and 2 of my mixer.. i use the channel inserts(one click method) to 1 and 2 ins of the maya44

then inputs 3-6 i route it to subgroup 1 then out of subgroup one goes to input 3 of maya 44

then 6-8 i route it to subgroup 2 then out of subgroup two goes to input 4 of maya 44..

will that work ?? will i have 4 seperate tracks in Adobe Audition 1.5 ??

also.. since there is 4 outs also of the maya 44.. can i plug that in the mixer?? the Line in of a stereo channel in the mixer ?? to monitor it or something?

sorry.. im so noob :(

in theory you are on target, but, if you run the outs back into the mixer be damn sure you don't route it to any sub outs, make sure they only go to the main outs of the mixer...

yay! :D

but wait.. let me get this straight.. since il get the maya probably next month..

i record 3 mics kick, snare and OH and route them to the Tape Out then to the Line In of my soundcard..

I asked this question a while back and they said to pan my kick mic HARD LEFT and Snare and Overheads HARD RIGHT then route it to the Tape Out --> Line In..

then Record it in Mono in Adobe Audition so i get two tracks right ?? Left And Right ??

i tried that a while ago.. I went to Option then Settings then Multitrack Tab then changed "Track Record" from Stereo to Mono.. but when I hit record its still recording in 1 Track :(

I havent really tried it with my drums cause its such a hassle to bring my computer to the drum room (Sloth!) but i just pressed record and I chose the "Line In" input instead of "Mic In" and its still recording in 1 track.. :(
