I just came across this. Don't know how long it has been out, but seemed pretty decent. I know that Audiophile has been a standard for home recording, so this one might make it even better.

Any opinions about it? Anyone use it?

Does look like a cool card, thats for sure. Not sure how long it's been out, been 192 sample rates are getting much more common now. it's M-Audio, so I'm sure it's decent, not the best, not the worst, just a good, solid product for a decent price I am confident.

From your experience, readings, testimonials, etc....What card do you think is the best for the typical home recording studio. This question gets asked a lot, but as new cards come out, I'm curious if there's a new one that grabs you. I know Db liked the Julia sound card which I thought was pretty impressive as well.

again, there is no best one, it depends on soooo many factors...what drivers, number of ins and outs, MIDI, digital interfaces and such things...it's only "whats best for me" not "whats best"

I love my Delta44 for sure. Its fine for me solo as I can sing/play geetar and also my outs are more than covered i.e. my monitors and also spare outs for other purposes i.e. to hifi etc.

So, the Delta44 is a good card for me. That, and the rock solid break out box with straight 1/4 jacks I love.

I will be in the market for a BIG MOMMMMA card soon (with pre's if poss) and if I can nab something as simple, with even better sound and not for too much cash I'll be delighted.

Id looked at the Aardvark but after recent horror stories, may give it a miss.

In fact, heres a poser for ye:

Should I (or would you if ye were goin for the same thing i.e. full band recording) go for a:

Aardvark Q10 with the pres n'all onboard OR

A cheaper mixer and a Delta10/10?

Cheers

Coco.

hmm, are yo goning to record at 192?

If not, then just go with a audiophile 24/96 for $100 or cheeper. I'm sure the sound quality is the same.

Ill, I use both the Delta 44 and and ESI Waveterminal 192M. The Delta is rock solid and has been for a good long while.

However, my new machine gets the ESI as it does seem to outperform the Delta in certain aspect, ie: latency, and a bit lower noise floor. Other then that, most of the higher end cards are pretty equal, other then driver issues and such.

So it really is getting one with the i/o's you want.

I found the High definition audiophile for $149

www.studica.com/products/shoppingcart.cfm

I think it might be a good idea to get this card because I think soon, all sounds from keyboard, modules, etc. will be in high definition. I guess someone could wait til that option is available before going out and buying this card, but for $149, it doesn't seem like a bad choice.
