Sonar 3 and VSTi's

Hello-

I was wondering if someone experienced more than myself could give me a hand. I have Native Instrument's B4 (VSTi) recorded into a MIDI track in Sonar 3. I can not for the life of me convert this to a normal audio track for more editing. I know I'm susposed to use the "bounce to track" option, but it is not lit up, no matter what I try. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Cheers!

Albertv, you need to make sure and highlight both the midi track with the notes on it, and the audio track that contains the b4 synth. Hold down cntrl when you do this and they will both stay highlighted. Then go to edit / bounce to track(s). This should work for ya.

wyd, are you making sure you have run the VST wrapper so it recognizes the b4? Also make sure you have the warpper updated fully, as some of the new instruments freak it out.

Thanks for the advise Noize, but it didn't work. I highlighted them both completely and still nothing. Very weird. I can't even bounce two normal audio tracks together. Any other ideas? Re-install Sonar maybe? Thanks!

yeah Noize, i'm pretty sure it's something to do with ahem my "demo" version of the b4. i've simply stopped using it as a plug in, and just record the audio while playin' as a standalone.

What you will need to do is Mute all tracks but the tracks you want to "Bounce" Then, you will need to add an audio track to your project. Setup it's input to your sound card and it's output to none. Arm the track for recording hit record, then sit back and wait until the song is completed. This is the stock way to do this in Sonar.

Good luck

Thanks Philthone, I'll try that as soon as I get home from work!

Albertv, ya that might be a good option. It should be that simple really. I tried a couple differant synths just to make sure and they both worked fine. And just so ya know they are mutant strain synths to, not your typical top of the line like the NI synths.
