I was planning on buying a behringer UB 1622 mixer. I was wondering if i can hook up the Mixer to the balanced ins of the Juli@ card? Does the 1622 even have balanced outs?

Yes, the main outs are balanced. But using the main outs will send everything back to the Juli@. That is really not the prefered method for getting things out to the sound card. A work around is if you turn the channels you dont want recorded down with the faders and then send the signal through the aux channels to a headphone mix or just out the aux buss to a moniter amp.

The main outs are balanced XLR outputs the sub outs and control room outs I believe are unbalanced but I forget. That is the same setup I have have, and I am pretty darn happy with the 1622 and the Juli@.

You can get more detailed info about the 1622 at www.behringer.com/UB1622FX/index.cfm?lang=ENG

Personally don't use the main outs to go to the Juli@, I use the sub outs to go back to the card and the main outs to go to the amp/speakers.

My bad, I forgot the UB series had the sub outs. The sub outs as dB said are what you should use. And running unbalanced should not effect the audio unless you are running a very long distnace of cable. I checked an old manual I have for the MX version of that mixer and the sub outs were unbalanced. I would assume they are the same with the UB.

cool thx. I was looking into an audio card and was not all that convinced with the ones on musicians friend. The good looking ones were expensive and they didnt update the drivers. Then i heard about dB and some other people saying they used the juli@ card. I decided to google it and thought it was the coolest thing ive ever seen ( well almost).

I gotta give dB credit for his Juli@ discovery as well. I have run M-Audio for what seems like eternity with very good luck. dB turned me onto ESI, which I opted for the Waveterminal 192M, and I love it. I got one to review from ESI and ended up buying it. Excellant driver stability so far, and the latency is less then the hot rodded drivers I run for my Delta 44.

And they are priced very right as well, cant go wrong there.

Jason, use the outputs on the Juli@ and have them go to your mixer, amp or apeakers.
