Im setting up Cubase on a friend's desktop, and it records the stuff fine, but i cant quite figure out how to get the output to be through my computer's souncard and speakers. I've got a Delta 44 and it insists i use the Outs on the Delta, but i have no moniters! I'm sure there's a simple way but im so used to Cool Edit, Cubase is like learning chinese

Dec 15, 2004 07:05 am Make sure you have the newest drivers for the integrated sound card, I am not sure, but doesn't cubase only support ASIO? Or does it support WDM as well?
You may have to get a couple adapters and switch the jack of the speakers to come out of the delta if Cubase won't play well with others...or, run the outs of the Delta to the ins of the built in sound card...

Dec 15, 2004 10:20 am I think you are limited to what Cubase finds during installation. If the output devise does not appear as an option in the output configuration of Cubase there is no way that I know of to manualy appoint one.

Dec 15, 2004 11:14 am Eesh, that kinda sucks. Wonder why it's so complicated
Dec 15, 2004 11:15 am Cuz it does a lot of stuff...the "easy to use and learn" apps generally don't do as much, so usability is easier to make...it's give and take when designing interfaces for apps, the bigger it is, the harder it is to make everything "simple"

Dec 17, 2004 07:59 am Go to your VST Multitrack screen in the Device setup dialog box. Its in one of the pull down menus. Not sure the name but it is on the right portion of the pulldowns. That should allow you to switch to any of your installed audio devices. I believe Cubase will support WDM interfaces. I actually used my integrated soundcard on my laptop once so it must. Latency is quite high though.
