Hi there,

I am new in here.. so please don't think I am too stupid..LOL.

I just upgraded to Sonar 4. I loaded up a VST instrument, successfully laid down a track, then disarmed it and moved to the next track.

When I try to record another track now, the previous one is being recorded as well!! This is very frustrating, and I know it didn't do this in any of the previous versions I had installed. I can't seem to find a clear answer in the HELP file (as usual)..

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME??

I am using a half decent setup... A pair of Creamware HOME cards slaved together, recording in 24 bit @ 44.1 using ASIO2 driver..

Thanks so much

Greg

You probably have the "What You Hear" input selected for recording in the windows mixer, make sure you select Line In.

Actually I have all the onboard sound disabled. It is all routed through my Creamware soundcard, and should be four mono or two stereo channels. There is no "what u hear" option, only a routing window where I can see a virtual representation of my devices and their connections. It all looks good from soundcard side.. there are no loops or redundant connections.. It must be something I am overlooking in Sonar.. I am sure it is sooo simple.. It must be..or Sonar would be useless...lol.

Why the heck does it still want to record as if it was from the monitoring source... aaarrrgh!!

Thanks though

Are you recording through a mixer?
