Dunno if anyone cares but Avid just bought out (acquired) Midiman Inc. aka M-Audio to the tune of
$80 million in cash...

Yeah, that announcement (or the announcement of intent) was made quite a while ago...it's sad really.

Cuz M-Audio's customer support is going downhill anyway, now, in addition they are getting brought into the fold of ProTools, which scares the hell out of me that they will be brought under the "you need to have ProTools to use it" arena, which would suck.

Actually, since I don't use M-Audio I don't care that much, but I know I have influenced people to buy M-Audio, which makes me feel bad of Avid is just gonna swallow it up, steal their technology and through away all the current users like Apple did to all the Windows users when they bought Logic.

Capitalism at it's finest once again. M-Audio (from what I have read) is a good brand. Its becoming really sad that Pro Tools is now becoming the 'Kleenex' or 'Xerox' of the recording industry. Granted, it one hell of a utility but out of reach for a small timer like me.
