Just watched a fantastic show all aboot the Pistols.

Basically the battle between Jonny Rotten and Malcolm McLaren (what a git he wis). Great show..some classic footage, class songs and fantastic attitude to music from Rotten...

You gotta admire the guy for sticking to his guns. He wis done BIG TIME by his slimeball manager, then, 8 years later, got his cash.

Now, THAT is perseverance for ya.

I reckon I dont think I ever heard any album which better captures the SOUND of punk than Never Mnd The Bolcks...top album.

Aye ......

Hey coco, how you doin' buddy? Well I hope. No doubt, slimeball managers & most record executives is what alot of bands has had to deal with. I've seen a few in my day.

Once, I was listening to this ceo of some record label whine about how online sales of mp3's are killing his record company(one of the big labels, not sure which one) I thought, what comes around goes around.

All of those years these big labels have robbed artist's, it's only fair play that they should suffer...but you know their not ! I'm sure he finds ways to pass the burden on to someone else in the company. Like the "little man." Anyway, enough ranting from me. take it easy bro !

*I knew this record exec that called everyone babe...never trust a man that calls another man babe !

yeah i'm not a huge fan of punk, but bollocks accurately captures the thing i *love* about punk while excluding everything i hate. bollocks' attitude is caustic and the hooks aren't bubblegum. i think the jesus lizard is the truest descendant of the sex pistols ethos. and they're one of my fave bands. i don't know too much about punk, but so far, the JL is the only band that's really gotten to the heart of that pistols vibe for me. nirvana knew what it was too, and just took it in a slightly different direction.

did you ever see when johnny rotten took, like, his drummer on to the judge judy show? now that was a riot. two stubborn hardheads.

Malcom is my favorite dude when it comes to being out right rude and polite at the same time. He can look you in the eye, while spitting on your shoe and make you believe you deserved it. That said, indeed he worked hard to get what was his in the first place. And yes indeed the pistols were at the best with never mind the bulloks.

the pistols have this perception of being a kind of art school creation, a kind of cartoon band...but when ya listen to the music theyre a very tight rock band, extremely well produced and with great hooks.

gimmick and shock factor alone do not a great musical proposition make (look at courtney love)...

Aye..thats exactly what Jonny Rotten said...Malcolm gave the impression he made them, moulded them manufactured them but...he didny.

They were formed and were tight anyways...you should see the dump they practiced in. Cool band and I agree, some great production work there.

One of the best produced albums I ever heard in fact was Nevermind the....

Captured mood and a very tight band as yi say Flame. Pistols rock.

i never really liked the pistols...

i was always a clash man m'self....far better musically and lyrically, and far sharper too.

the sex pistols never really floated my boat.. i can see why they became a cornerstone of the punk movement, but just never liked em....

mind you...PIL were fan-bleedin-tastic....
