Hi Folks
Does anybody know how good the Behringer B1 Condeser MIC is/does anyone have one?? I was looking at getting a condenser and a compressor next for ma recordings but I want to get both so I need to compromise a bit!
I was thinkin aboot the NT1A but this is about £130 - the Behringer is £79 which would give me a good whack of a difference to be put towards buying the compressor.
By the way, what like is the Samson Compressors? I saw one in a catalouge I have for about £70...looks OK. I also spied THIS one on Ebay:
cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISA...ssPageName=WDVW
I dunno, I could possibly get both Condesner and comp for the same price as an NT1A...
Anyone got input into this before I bag a bargain/waste my cash :-) !!
Cheers as always guys...
Coco.

Sep 04, 2004 04:07 pm I have the B1
In the beginning it worked real good
don't know if you ever heard any of ma songs but it was a recorded with the B1
but now ... it takes a regular crap
that could be because I dropped it once
but it worked just FINE afterwards, but like a half year after the drop it suddenly takes dumps and I always put it away in it's little suitcase that came with it
..
So I Opened the mic
Nothing was wrong everything fine
turned there was a lot of black goo on the Diaphragm or something I cleaned it and it worked like new again
so long story short
Íf i were to buy a new condensor I would go for the Rode Cuz a friend of mine has it and I like the sound better than that of the B1 But that's a matter of taste I guess
Hope this was helpfull
Sep 04, 2004 06:22 pm Aye, that was helpful buddy.
I had thought of the B1 or maybe the B2. Failiing that, the Rode - its just the price of the Rode. Tho, there is one on Ebay just now for £82...I was just a bit dubious aboot buying a second hand one - delicate things they are as you say.
I'll check it but that info is handy to know. Do you reckon if you hadny dropped it, it would have been fine or mibbes just no the best ay mics wi the price n 'all??
Cheers Presley.

Sep 04, 2004 10:13 pm i have heard good things about the rode. something like an 'industry standard'. As soon as I get a bit of money I am gonna get one. But lets not get in a bidding war on ebay!

Sep 05, 2004 12:59 am i think the rode is a better mic than the behringer. however, i have the B2 and i LOVE it! as far as i'm concerned my B2 is right up there with any condenser i've heard.
Sep 05, 2004 01:00 am I have 2 of the b1's. Haven't had any problems thus far although they haven't been used much. If you listen to my music, I used them as drum overheads on all the tracks.
Sep 05, 2004 04:33 am I don't know if it would've taken a crap if I didn't let it drop
Maybe I just happen to have a Bad factory screw up or something, I know a friend of mine uses without any problems
Have a nice Sunday!
Sep 05, 2004 12:13 pm Cheers Bud...
I'll give it some thought and thanks for the info.
Enjoy the day of rest yersel! Mines almost done and I just got done making a stir fry chicken n black bean sauce with fried rice...and wine.
So, like a dipstick, I just got done pickin up the hot bit o the wok...so I have a BIG blister coming up on ma left index finger....ah well, I didny really want to play ma guitar for 2 weeks anyway!!
Cheers
